Pace University's Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) program in the College of Health Professions seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor position in the Master of Science Degree Program to serve as the Director of Pace University’s Speech Language and Hearing Center. The position will be located on our New York City Campus (163 William St., New York, NY). The Master’s program has received First Year Candidacy Status by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology for the new Master of Science in Communications Sciences and Disorders program. Join a group of engaged faculty in our established undergraduate and new graduate Communications Disorders Program.
The Clinic Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical education component of the Master of Science program as well as managing the on-site Speech, Language and Hearing Center. In addition, as a faculty member, this position includes contribution to teaching, program development, clinical administrative tasks and/or service in the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Primary responsibilities include:
Oversight of graduate students’ clinical education, including their progress throughout the clinical practicum sequence
Oversight of daily operations of the Center
Maintain HIPAA, ASHA certification eligibility and program accreditation compliance of the Center
Maintain all relevant student and clinic files and inventory
Program start date is September 1, 2018. Position will be filled as soon as possible. Salary is commensurate with experience and rank.
Required Education and Experience:
Candidate must possess:
MA/MS in Communications Sciences and Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology)
Current American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification
Current New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
Recent relevant experience in supervising graduate students and/or professionals
Current teaching certificate for Students with Speech-Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
While candidates with a background in Higher Education are preferred, those with a comparable background will be considered.
