This position is for a Speech-Language Pathologist at Havern School. Havern is an independent school that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade with diagnosed learning disabilities.
This position is five days a weeks, and qualifies for full benefits.
Roles and responsibilities:
Develop suitable treatment plans and provide small group therapy based on assessment of students’ needs, making adjustments as needed based on performance. SLP's utilize a therapeutic approach and develop treatment plans based on student needs and do not write or utilize IEPs.
Administer initial testing to new students at the beginning of the year, and annual testing every spring to students on your caseload.
Manage your own caseload of students.
Work with colleagues in a collaborative manner, including classroom teachers, other Speech Language Pathologists and other school professionals. Collaborate with classroom teachers providing support and tools, consult for in-class performance, and work together to provide consistency of strategies for students.
Prepare and write year-end reports, detailing strategies, learning goals and assessment results for of each student and recommendations for future speech language needs.
Participate in leading a multidisciplinary class that all students in the school attend with their classmates each Monday. This is a collaborative course taught by Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists, all of whom belay students on the rock wall.
Communicate regularly with parents, including scheduled conferences.
Attend to the social, emotional and academic needs of students
Attend school functions and meetings. Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and weekly or biweekly staffings.
