Chair/Program Director/Assistant or Associate Professor Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (Ruskin, FL)
Gannon University's Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences invites applications for a Chair/Program Director for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders located on the Ruskin, Florida campus. The anticipated start date for the position is July 2018. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary, innovative, and collaborative leadership to establish a new MS program in Speech-Language Pathology that meets all standards for CAA accreditation. This position will be responsible for recruiting a team of faculty that can effectively educate students in the scope of practice of SLP and recruit students with the talent and drive to be successful practitioners. This position is a 12-month, tenure track position with administrative release time to fulfill the Chair/Program Director responsibilities.
Required qualifications include a graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a CAA-accredited program, an earned doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, audiology, or related field, an active license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida, current ASHA certification, at least four (4) years of clinical practice experience, a record of leadership, effective communication skills, and professionalism, and familiarity with CAA standards. Preference will be granted to candidates with experience in higher education and a demonstrated commitment to research and service appropriate for appointment at the level of Assistant Professor. Qualified candidates will be expected to engage in scholarly activities in keeping with the Boyer Model of Scholarship. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University's inclusive Mission and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
