There is no reduction in salary pay if work is not available.
Deborah L. Curlee Communication Consultants ("CCC") is located in Knoxville, TN. CCC is a 36 year old private practice that is the largest in East Tennessee with 65 Masters' degreed SLPs. CCC's caseload is mostly pediatrics but a smaller adult caseload is also available. Our company is owned and operated by a speech-language pathologist, Deborah Curlee Hall, M.A. CCC-SLP, and provides a varied and diverse caseload in multiple settings, making this an enriching job opportunity for either CF-SLPs or CCC-SLPs with experience. We are glad to help train SLPs who may lack exposure or experience with certain populations but who would like the opportunity to "shadow" and learn new skills.
Our pediatric population consists of Birth to 3 for early intervention working with families. Preschool and school age children are served individually in schools for speech-language disorders, including some with multiple handicaps (autism, cerebral palsy, etc.) but without the burden of school system case management, IEP meetings, and school system paperwork. Opportunities in working with adults in home health settings also available. SLPs are mostly needed to help serve the 1,300 children we see, individually, in schools where we provide the services while the school system's clinicians are the case managers and the ones writing the IEPs, etc.
CCC has a reputation for quality and ethics in the community. (CCC declines to do any work in nursing homes.) CCC provides a friendly and supportive network for its staff, whether CFs or seasoned SLPs. Strong CF supervision and extra support is provided by experienced speech-language pathologists. Highly competitive pay (guaranteed salary) and benefits in a low cost-of-living university community close to the Smoky Mountains, parks, and lakes. (Knoxville is a small city with big city amenities, and Tennessee is a NO income tax state with reasonable apartment rents and no big city headaches).
CCC does not have "productivity requirements" (mandatory daily or weekly billing requirements) and uses a unique performance-based incentive system to reward strong performance with the opportunity to earn monthly bonuses on top of the guaranteedsalary.
Unique opportunity for a 4-day work week (32 hour) during the summer with no reduction in pay. 10 month contracts are available for those who do not wish to work at all in the summer. For those who want to have even more time off, part-time work is also available as are other highly flexible schedules for those who want to work school hours only, want to work certain days a week only or who are otherwise seeking part-time work on a per-session or salaried basis.
CCC provides services in the Knoxville area and adjacent counties and also serve locations as far east as Morristown, Greeneville, Kingsport and Johnson City, Tennessee. Help is needed to serve preschool and school-aged children, individually, in the Knoxville/Morristown area and also upper East Tennessee (Greene County, Kingsport, Johnson City, etc.) for individual sessions in schools with no school system paperwork or having to attend meetings or write IEPs as is required of a school system SLP.

Additional Salary Information: Salary includes the $5,000 sign-on bonus. Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel is available or use of company cars. Opportunity for a monthly performance bonus on top of guaranteed salary. Unlike many practices today, CCC offers a real "salary" position (not hourly or based on direct therapy time only) and has no mandatory productivity requirements. Relocation costs are covered by the $5,000 sign on bonus.
