The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders in Medical Speech-Language Pathology in the Thelma P. Lally School of Education to start August 2018.
Responsibilities will include 12 credits per semester of teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and related clinical work, engaging in scholarly activities, attending internal and external events applicable to the College and the candidate's academic discipline, academic advising, program assessment, curriculum development, and participation in Department, School, and College committees. In addition to supervision, clinical work may include consultation to diagnostic teams and /or the development of specialty clinics.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a closely related field (or foreign language equivalent), eligibility for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence - Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), eligibility for New York State licensure, expertise in medical speech-language pathology including, but not limited to, swallowing and related disorders, adult language disorders, anatomy and physiology and/or other medical speech, language, and communication, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, commitment to scholarship, and superior written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching and providing clinical supervision.
Candidates applying for the rank of Associate Professor must have earned that rank at a prior institution.
