ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide direct, individual or small group instruction to identified pupils on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP. -Collaborate with other personnel working with Special Education students. -Participate in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS). -Implement and monitor IEP of students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS). -Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services as established by State standards. -Consult with school and home office staff. -Develop instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the mainstream classroom. -Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. -Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
1) Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
-Strong communication and community-building skills -Proficiency with MS Office -Bilingual/Bi-literate—English/Spanish preferred -Experience in performance assessment -Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
2) Minimum educational level:
- Master’s Degree. CCC is a plus. -Valid California Speech-Language Pathology School Services credential or California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services credential with an authorization in Language, Speech and Hearing
3) Experience required:
-2+ years as a Speech and Language Therapist
