Stockton University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, School of Health Sciences.
Stockton University’s School of Health Sciences offers more than ten undergraduate and/or graduate programs in Communication Disorders, Exercise Science, Health Science, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant (dual degree) and Public Health. The School currently has 1,887 students, 48 full-time faculty and 15 staff. Stockton University is among the top 10 Public Regional Universities in the North according to U.S. News & World Report. With more than 9,000 students, Stockton is growing and expanding. Stockton’s campus, located in the beautiful Pinelands National Reserve, is within easy driving distance from Baltimore, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
This is an opportunity for an innovative leader within the health sciences to play a pivotal role in leading the School’s continued growth in developing new programs to educate students for challenging and meaningful health care careers. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean will articulate a vision and corresponding plan that will result in the School being recognized nationally as a leader in the preparation of superior providers of health care.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate and be eligible for a faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. We seek candidates with proven experience as a leader who can inspire faculty and staff to work together to build outstanding academic programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills with the ability to effectively partner with a broad range of constituents internally and externally. The successful candidate will be a persuasive communicator with strong and highly effective interpersonal skills. Experience in attracting and recruiting faculty is very important.
