Exciting 4th year externship opportunity in Southern California with the Ventura County Office of Education Hearing Conservation. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for working with children to join our team. Ventura County Office of Education provides audiology services to children birth - 21 years of age in both clinic and school settings, accepting both school and medical referrals. Services include the identification, intervention, and education of children with hearing loss. The audiologists in this setting provide assessment and consultation regarding auditory functioning and hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants and hearing assistive technology); educate and guide parents to intervention and educational resources; and collaborate and communicate with educators, community, and medical professionals working with deaf and hard of hearing students in the county. This dynamic environment will provide you with experience supporting pediatric clients in multiple ways and prepare you for your career in audiology.
Candidate should be enrolled in an accredited Au.D. program and be eligible for the 4th year externship.

The Ventura County Office of Education Hearing Conservation and Audiology Services supports schools and the Ventura County community in the provision of comprehensive Hearing Screening, in-depth hearing evaluation, and collaborative special education services for deaf and hard of hearing students to minimize the educational impact of hearing loss.
