Position Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist provides evaluation, planning, and implementation of speech therapy services for We Care students to facilitate the rehabilitation and/or development of speech, language, cognition and oral motor disorders. The person in this position serves as an educational coordinator for students on speech therapy services.
What you can look forward to:
Provide speech-language pathology through center-based and home-based programs
Provide infant stimulation services through the Home Based program
Develop and implement speech and language goals and objectives for assigned children
Provide therapeutic services informally within the classroom as well as within small group
Integrate speech and language stimulation techniques into each aspect of the treatment program
Record observations, progress and other child related data
Provide comprehensive evaluations in the area of speech and language and other related areas
Provide accurate, timely written reports
Confer with parents on an as needed basis
Demonstrate a working knowledge of current professional theories and techniques
Participate as a member of the We Care inter-disciplinary team by working cooperatively and collaboratively with all staff. Provide consultation and orientation to therapy techniques for other professional and para-professional staff.
Train professionally affiliated students as needed
Attend required meetings
Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Demonstrate leadership abilities
What you’ll bring to the position:
California license to practice Speech-Language Pathology
MS or MA in Communicative Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence
Experience with children birth to five years
Experience with language delayed/disordered clients
Experience in pre-school classrooms or consulting to classrooms (preferred)
Enthusiastic interest in supporting the mission of We Care Services for Children.
Provide a criminal background check including fingerprint clearance, as well as passing a standard physical with TB clearance.
