About the position This is an exciting part-time (10-20 hours weekly) or full-time outpatient clinical opportunity. This position is a mixture of diagnostic and treatment related procedures. The position can either be broad based working with pediatrics through geriatrics presenting with a variety of cognitive and language disorders or specialized on a select age group. As a Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapist and Speech-Language Pathologist you will work with an interdisciplinary team of clinical neuropsychologists, cognitive neuroscientists, gerontologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, nurse practitioners, neuropsychometrists and neuromodulation technicians. You will be responsible for administering cognitive, speech and language, as well as, academic related assessments to assist in the neurodiagnostic evaluation process. You will also have report writing responsibilities summarizing your findings and treatment plan. Treatment related duties include treating cognitive and language disorders with a variety of cognitive rehabilitation and speech-language interventions including social skills development. This position offers an excellent opportunity for specialization in the remediation of a learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, orthographic and written expression disorders as well as speech, voice and other language disorders. Consultation and liaison work with schools, other institutions and clinicians is also incorporated into the full-time positions. Director level career pathway opportunities are available for qualified candidates. Late-afternoon, early evening and Saturday hours are preferred for part-time clinicians as these are the busiest hours at our clinics.
At least 3 years post-fellowship experience in testing and treating patients with cognitive, speech and language disorders. We prefer candidates with additional certifications and/or training in assessing and treating various learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dyscalculia and written expression disorders for our pediatric and adolescent division. We offer training on a wide range of different diagnostic tests and platforms, as well as, neurocognitive rehabilitation interventions. The candidate must also be licensed or licensed eligible in NJ and have a Medicare/Medicaid or be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid provider number.
