Job Description
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Illinois State University is seeking applications for the position of Chair, preferably to begin on July 1, 2010. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is located in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department serves nearly 200 undergraduate students in speech- language pathology and audiology. It also offers a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and a Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.). Both graduate programs are CAA accredited through 2013. The speech language pathology program is also NCATE accredited. In addition, the Department houses the Eckelmann-Taylor Speech and Hearing Clinic, one of the largest clinics in the Midwest. Additional Salary Information: Rank is at the Professor or Associate Professor level. This is a twelve-month position, with a competitive salary.

Requirements
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in speech-language pathology, audiology, or a related field, a substantial record of teaching and research, and demonstrable leadership, management and communication skills. The Chair will be expected to provide vision and leadership, to secure resources, and to foster an atmosphere conducive to teaching and research.
