Job Description
Working under the general direction of the School Administrator the Speech-Language Pathologist carries out treatment programs, which are under a physician's prescription, for children with various disabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

* Evaluates clients according to ASHA practices to establish present level of functioning.

* Develops IEP goals based on assessment results.

* Develops and monitors treatment plans on a regular basis.

* Consults with School Administrator on available resources/ services available to compliment therapy sessions.

* Supervises interns at the request of the School Administrator.

NOTES: Local Residents Preferred (No Relo)

Requirements
* Masters degree from a CAA accredited college or university program in Speech and Language Pathology.

* Certificate of Clinical Competence or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship required

* Illinois licensure required

* Knowledge of typical speech and language development and ability to apply this information to individuals who have autism, are non-verbal, or who rely on AAC.

* Knowledge of authentic assessment procedures to assess and determine an individual’s communication skills and needs for populations who have autism, who function non-verbally, or are AAC users.

*Understands supervisory processes and practices related to direct and indirect supervision of SLPP’s.

* Must have a compassionate demeanor toward people with disabilities and their families; an ability to deal with persons of varied backgrounds and social circumstances; and an ability to function as a team player
